美国入境禁令移民政策受关注,经美国入境加拿大的人数近期增加,周五有9名难民试图越过美国边境进入加拿大,期间美国边境巡逻人员尝试阻止不果,在边境的加拿大皇家骑警未有阻止。

事件经过被路透社记者拍摄下来。皇家加拿大骑警拒绝透露他们的国籍。

根据路透社报道,一名美国海关员警周五在纽约州接壤加拿大边境的城市尚普兰(Champlain)查问一辆载有难民的计程车,收缴车上人士的护照,并向其中一名男子问话时,车上4名成年人和4名儿童立即下车,急奔向边境另一侧的加拿大皇家骑警,皇家骑警未有阻止他们入境。众人逐一越过围栏期间,皇家骑警亦有协助,除了帮忙其中的难民儿童外,也询问其中一名需靠人搀扶的妇女是否需要医疗协助。

被美国边境巡警盘问的男子之後抢回众人的护照,并跑向边界。加拿大警方也协助该男子逃离美国警方的追逐,进入加拿大。

其中一名男子儿童对路透社记者表示,「没人在乎我们」。他说他们来自苏丹,在美国特拉华州居住及工作已有2年。记者亦拍摄到至少其中一人的护照,显示为苏丹人。

根据美国边境巡警对现场的皇家加拿大骑警表示,这些难民是在美国的非法移民,原拟逮捕他们。

皇家加拿大骑警周五拒绝透露事件中入境难民的国籍。
